Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that respects your reading time. The writing is sharp, the party members have actual personalities, and the branching choices genuinely lead somewhere. We played through twice and got noticeably different endings.

Combat is turn-based with a positioning twist — where you stand on the grid changes how skills chain together. It starts gentle and ramps into something you'll want a notepad for. Auto-battle exists for grinding, but the real fights want your attention.

On an older phone it ran fine after the first cutscene stuttered. The one gripe is a slow middle stretch where the story pauses to send you on fetch quests, but the payoff at the end is worth pushing through.
